Sovereign’s management has a combined experience of over 45 years’ making award-winning films, such as ‘Howards End’ (9 Oscar nominations) and ‘The Remains of the Day’ (8 Oscar nominations). Since establishing Sovereign Films, their productions include Palme d’Or winner ‘The Tree of Life’ (3 Oscar nominations), starring Sean Penn, Jessica Chastain and Brad Pitt; ‘Effie Gray’, starring Dakota Fanning, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters; and ‘Voyage of Time’ with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
Sovereign also produced the award-winning documentaries ‘Cradle of Champions’ and ‘Cunningham’ , about the life of legendary dancer and choreographer Merce Cunningham, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and New York Film Festival. Upcoming productions include: ‘Memoria’, from Palme d’Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul, starring Tilda Swinton; ‘The Middle Man’ by acclaimed Norwegian director Bent Hamer; ‘Petrov’s Flu’ by Kirill Serebrennikov; ‘Eureka’, starring Viggo Mortensen, from Argentine director Lisandro Alonso; and Swedish drama ‘Triangle of Sadness’ with Woody Harrelson.
