Sovereign Films, founded by Andreas Roald, is a UK-based, multi-award-winning production company and distributor dedicated to high production value feature films. Notable productions include Oscar-nominated, Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winning Triangle of Sadness from writer/director Ruben Östlund and starring Woody Harrelson; Effie Gray starring Dakota Fanning, Emma Thompson, and Julie Walters; and Kirill Serebrennikov’s Palme d'Or nominated historical drama Tchaikovsky’s Wife. 

 

In 2024 in the UK, Sovereign will release theatrically Radu Jude’s award-winning black comedy Do Not Expect Too Much From the End of the World which was Romania’s entry to the Oscars; Lisandro Alonso’s Eureka, starring Viggo Mortensen; the award-winning documentary A Wolfpack Called Ernesto from director Everardo González; and the drama Small Gods, a feature film about the landless Batwa people of Africa’s Great Lakes Region, which has recently completed filming in Uganda.
